Professional, confidential, supportive, assistance is provided through an individual assessment and personal treatment plan. Often a short-term, goal-based approach is effective. However, long-term treatment is also available if needed.
Services may help to provide new solutions to old problems. This often results in a greater level of understanding, health, and satisfaction in one's relationships and family. Sometimes, new events also can occur in one's life, such as a loss, a life transition, or the arrival of anxiety or depression. Therapist and client together may address such issues. If the client wishes, spiritual issues may also be addressed.
Sometimes an issue affects or is affected by the whole family system. Adolescents sometimes choose to seek more independence than a parent may wish. Family counseling aims to work toward the goals stated by one or more clients in the family.
